GUITAR CENTER: Adrian Younge "Sirens" Track Deconstruct

Producer and composer Adrian Younge breaks down his song “Sirens” from his studio, Linear Labs, in Highland Park, CA.

Sounding like a hip hop track produced in 1969, “Sirens” is a synthesis of soul, psych, and jazz. From the sampler to the symphony, Adrian’s journey began with an Akai MPC 2000 and Tascam 8-track Portastudio. Adrian went on to learn piano, bass, drums and didn’t stop there. Not just a multi-instrumentalist Adrian taught himself how to record, too.

What began as making hip-hop beats built around samples of old records, evolved into playing instruments and has stretched to writing and arranging for orchestras. “Sirens” is a perfect blend of Adrian’s deep knowledge of hip hop, music composition, and recording skills at work.
